Attend a CMA Course

 How To Sign Up for A CMA Course 

  • Attend a  In-Person CMA training course 
  • Review the Medication Skills Checklist - Clinical Time to be scheduled during training
  • Pass the Online State of GA CMA Test 
  • We will pay your $27 certification fee to the state on your behalf for you to become certified 

Course Eligibility

 Course Prerequisites

  • Students are required to hold an active Georgia CNA certification and must complete the mandatory orientation call with the instructor prior to participating in the course. 
  • Age Requirement: Applicants must be at least 18 years old.       
  • Educational Background: A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.             
  • Language Proficiency: Ability to read and speak English.            
  • Physical Capability: Students should be physically able to perform any job-relevant duties, which may include standing for extended periods, walking, bending, and lifting. 


 

Course Format & Duration

  •  Price: $275  
  • Duration:  refer to the course syllabus for scheduling breakdown
  • Requirements: Must be an ACTIVE CNA in GA 
  • Payment Deadline: Deposit required to secure your seat. Payment is due in full to receive the course completion documents.  


Additional Information

Upon successful completion of the course, the instructor and student will complete the CMA hands-on techniques necessary on the medication skills checklist before testing.  After review of the medication skills checklist training, the student will take the online-only medication aide certification exam.   In order to pass, the candidate must score 80% or higher. Candidates have three chances within 90 days to pass. 

National Certification Information

  • National Certification: This course will not serve as a prerequisite for national exams for medication aide certification.
  • Once completed, students will be eligible to complete the medication skills checklist with an instructor at an assisted living, skilled nursing home, or penal institution in the state of Georgia.
  • Students who successfully obtain CMA certification can apply for work in an assisted living, skilled nursing home, or penal institution in the State of Georgia. A CMA is unable to administer medications in any other clinical setting. Although hourly wages are not a guarantee, entry-level pay for a CMA in the Metro Atlanta area is between $14- $2 per hour.
