PALS Course

 The PALS course will follow the strategies of the ACLS course as it pertains to pediatrics. Students will learn and apply life changing skills that will aide in the care of children facing cardiac emergencies. 

 The course is designed for those who are already working or interested in working in pediatrics.

Additional Information

Students will learn the following as it applies to infants and children...

1. Explain the parts of the heart and how electrical signals control it.
2. Explain what normal ECG readings should look like.
3. Recognize and understand common irregular heartbeats
4. List basic ACLS medicines and what they are used for.
5. Identify the right doses and ways to give these medicines during heart emergencies.
6. Use basic medicine knowledge to follow ACLS treatment steps.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course is $300 Total

 This course will dive deep into the fundamentals and procedures of Phlebotomy, which is the process of using a needle to take blood from a vein. Phlebotomy students will be taught real life applications of safety as it pertains to phlebotomy. The course will cover the day to day of a working laboratory phlebotomist as well as how to maintain a positively functioning environment with staff and clients.  

The State of Georgia does not require that phlebotomists have licensure or certification to work as a phlebotomist in the state. This course will however serve as a prerequisite for National Phlebotomy Certification.

National Certification 
Students interested in this additional step should contact the instructor for more information and be prepared to pay the national certification exam enrollment fee of $200.
